Why do we charge for the participation?

Basically to cover the operational costs. Our initiative is philanthropic and to foster the Belgian Startup Ecosystem with a focus on Sustainability. 

If we want this initiative to be itself financially sustainable, we need a simple business model.

 To not reinvent the wheel, we simply aligned with the way of doing of other industry Awards.

1. Require participants a small participation fee.
2. Find sponsors to offer prizes for the participants and financial support to cover the operational costs.
3. Find key partners which can deliver value to the participants (location, logistics, visibility, …).

If our business model is self-sufficient, we can focus on delivering extra value to the participants, the partners and the sponsors. It means:

1. Maximum of visibility,
2. Opportunity to pitch in front of potential clients or partners,
3. Bringing dedicated services and,
4. Offering rewarding prizes.

Moreover, a small financial participation ensures the commitment of the participants and guarantees the respect of the Juries’ members and organisators’ time and dedication.

To ensure the greatest commitment, submitting an application amounts to 50€/application.

The application will be validated as soon as the Application Fee has been received. An invoice will be generated.

The fee per Nominees’ application is 400 euros (excluding tax).

An invoice will be sent before the payment needs to done.

The entity which posts one or more applications undertakes to pay this amount per Finalist application, as soon as one or more applications, it has submitted, are declared Finalists.

The amount owed by the companies must be paid upon receipt of the invoice. An invoice will be sent to the companies concerned as soon as the list of finalists is revealed.
